The process of personal growth is never-ending. There’s always something to improve on: whether it’s learning how to better communicate with others, controlling your emotions, or simply setting time aside for yourself, our growth potential is limitless.

As a passionate advocate of pursuing a life of development and betterment, I’m always looking for ways to self-improve. So when I heard that September is Self-Improvement Month, I thought it would be a perfect time to create a checklist of items I try to implement in my life to improve myself. Some are simple steps and some require a bit more effort but they all strive for one common goal. Here they are:

  1. Write your own book. Download this FREE resource guide to help you navigate the process of writing a book.
  2. Pick up a new hobby.
  3. Take up a new course.
  4. Overcome your fears.
  5. Level up your skills.
  6. Wake up early.
  7. Have a weekly exercise routine.
  8. Get out of your comfort zone.
  9. Identify your blind spots.
  10. Ask for feedback.
  11. Stay focused with to-do lists.
  12. Acknowledge your flaws.
  13. Learn from people who inspire you.
  14. Quit a bad habit.
  15. Avoid negative people.
  16. Get a mentor or coach.
  17. Meditate.
  18. Let go of the past.
  19. Show kindness to people around you.
  20. Take a break.
