In life, you’re constantly being told what to do, think, and how and when to do things. All these voices can lead to confusion and exhaustion – making finding your way in life hard at times.

But there’s good news! You don’t need all these voices clouding your judgement because you have intuition, a much more potent, trustworthy compass that can guide you to your true path. Intuition is your 6th sense, your “gut”, your “inner voice”, which always knows the best path for you in any situation or decision.

Try some of the following tips to turn up the volume on your trustworthy inner voice.

1. Meditate. Practice just listening and wait for what enters your thoughts. Ask yourself questions. You’ll be surprised what answers come out of you. Messages from your intuition tend to be quiet, so spend time in silence to help you hear and interpret these messages.

2. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes. To build your intuition in relationships, you need to let go of judgement and practice putting yourself in someone else’s shoes. By doing this, you’ll be able to read people on a deeper level.

3. Trust your hunches. Every time you get a feeling or sense of “something”, acknowledge, focus, and ask yourself what this could mean because more times than not, your inner voice is trying to lead you in the right direction.

4. Do things that bring you joy. Create space in your every day for little things that make you laugh out loud. Play with your dog, watch a funny video online, create a cocktail. Joy helps clear out cobwebs in your mind that black you from hearing your inner truth.

5. Exercise. Whether it’s taking a stroll through the park, doing yoga, tai chi, or pilates, get your body moving and that will help not only your body, but will clear up your mind too.
